Inspect & document
Hamid examines the items in person when appropriate, recording dimensions, materials, construction, condition, markings, provenance, and other value-relevant characteristics.
03Evidence-led analysis
Research the market
Relevant markets and comparable sales are researched and analyzed. For rugs, this includes origin, age, weave, design, materials, condition, rarity, and current market behavior.
04Clear & appropriate
Deliver the report
The appraisal is communicated in the written or oral format appropriate to its intended use. Written reports clearly present the property, methodology, relevant market, and supported opinion of value.

Hamid Razi

An Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers, specializing in Oriental rugs, with more than 30 years of appraisal and consulting experience in the Los Angeles area.
Hamid's perspective is grounded in decades of involvement with Persian and Oriental rugs—including purchase, sale, conservation, cleaning, repair, and restoration—along with a Certificate of Appraisal Studies in Fine & Decorative Arts from UC Irvine and Graduate Gemologist education from GIA.
His independent practice is guided by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), supporting impartial opinions and well-researched conclusions appropriate to each assignment's intended use.
